When is the Best Time to Visit Hawaii? The best weather in Hawaii is in April, May, September, and October. Kailua-Kona town is the best place to stay in Hawaii for a bit of an ‘urban’ experience on the Big Island (Hilo, in the east is larger, but far more tailored toward local life). The Kona Coast (south of Kailua-Kona town) has lovely accommodations, coffee farms, and the beautiful Kealakekua Bay. However, a 3rd unofficial language is also widely spoken, Pidgin which is a slang combining words from many aspects of island life and culture.
